Abstract:
Papers of Morris Rubin, 1920-1994, longtime editor at The Progressive magazine, and of his wife, Mary, who also worked at The Progressive for most of her adult life. Included in the collection is correspondence with friends and colleagues, including Philip La Follette, discussing Progressive politics and the overall mood of the country; drafts of Morris Rubin's unpublished memoirs; and records related to The Progressive magazine. There are also photographs of family and friends, and an original charcoal caricature of Morris Rubin, drawn by Bill Sanders.
