Papers of Mary Fowler Rennebohm, wife of Wisconsin’s Governor Oscar Rennebohm (1947-1951), concerning the history of the Fowler and Rennebohm families; her activities as Wisconsin’s first lady; and other social activities and interests such as travel. Photographs include images of Mary, family members, and friends.

Scope and Content Note

Included are clippings; Christmas letters; a Fowler family genealogy and family reunion booklet; tributes, awards, diplomas, etc.; poems by David Morton Fowler (Mary’s father); appointment book kept while first lady; information concerning various civic projects; a scrapbook of the Study Club (a women’s club to which she belonged); travel diaries and letters; and extensive photographs. Photographs include images of Mary and Oscar Rennebohm, their daughters Doris and Carol, and other members of the Rennebohm and Fowler families; friends, members of her college sorority, and Study Club activities; Mary participating in various civic events; travel; and receiving her honorary degree in 1977 from the University of Wisconsin.
