Abstract:
Materials collected from the Capitol building in Madison, Wisconsin, and other sources documenting the 2011 budget bill debate and subsequent recall elections. Materials consist of posters, flyers, meeting notices, emails, exhibits, campaign materials, photographs, and ephemera.

Biography/History

The 2011 Wisconsin Act 10, also known as the Wisconsin Budget Repair Bill, was legislation proposed by Republican Governor Scott Walker and passed by the Wisconsin Legislature to address a projected $3.6 billion budget deficit.

Scope and Content Note: Printed email messages regarding the Budget Repair Bill, flyers and posters, house rules and meeting notices, produced primarily in February and March 2011, supporting public sector workers, their unions and collective bargaining and other issues surrounding the Budget Repair Bill.
