Abstract:
Records of the De Pere, Wisconsin, lodge, including minutes, semi-annual reports, a ledger containing membership records, roll of officers, and treasurers’ cash books, receipt book, and orders. The Independent Order of Odd Fellows was founded to support members and their communities in times of hardship and was one of the first fraternal societies to include both men and women. Minutes (1877-1900 and 1946-1959) detail the lodge’s monthly meetings, decisions, and activities, including the creation of committees and offers of food and other help to members in need. The Treasurer’s records include dues paid and monetary assistance given to members and others in the community.
