Abstract:
Letters, notices, and reports to the City Clerk, City Council, and Mayor from state agencies, city departments, and citizens. Correspondence with the State Board of Health, the Railroad and Public Service Commission, and the Industrial Commission relates to sewer and water system construction, highways, municipal employees, and utility regulation. Material from city departments includes communications from the Police and Fire Commission, appointments to various city offices and boards, and, for the earlier years, applications for relief, materials concerning the city hospital and reports of the municipal judge. Reports of the Fire Insurance Rating Bureau detail the operations of the city water, police, and fire departments. Petitions and letters from individuals, the Chamber of Commerce, churches, unions, and other organizations provide information about ordinances, public improvements, nuisances, conditions of public employment, and similar matters.
