Scope and Content Note

This collection consists of 5 episodes from the half-hour-long comedy program The Patty Duke Show, which aired on ABC from 1963 to 1966. The films include episodes from the second season (1964-1965). Set in Brooklyn Heights, New York, the show told the story of outgoing American teen Patty Lane and her identical cousin, reserved Scottish girl Cathy, both played by then 17-year-old Patty Duke. They lived with Patty's father, Martin (William Schallert), a newspaper editor, his wife Natalie (Jean Byron), and son Ross (Paul O'Keefe). Patty's boyfriend Richard (Eddie Applegate) was also a fixture at the Lane house.

While a total of 104 episodes of The Patty Duke Show aired on ABC during its three-season run, this collection contains only five of the original episodes, all from the second season. The first and third seasons are not documented in this collection. All of the reels in this collection are 16 mm prints with sound and have a running time of approximately 20 to 30 minutes each. The visual quality of these prints is good overall although the quality differs between individual reels.
