Abstract:
A variety of documents filed with the Circuit Court between 1818 and 1928, the bulk falling between 1820 and 1870. These records apparently were never indexed and had no other court documents related to them. Included is a wide variety of materials such as minutes of coroners' inquests, liens and judgments, writs of habeas corpus, marriage records, naturalization records, pardons, depositions of witnesses, documents connected with court cases, and a number of reports filed with the Circuit Court. An 1818 certificate of admission to legal practice for James D. Doty is present, as is an 1881 application by the Wisconsin and Michigan Railroad to condemn land. Also present are a few records concerning early Outagamie County.
