Abstract:

Films are compiled footage of northern Wisconsin scenes in Marathon and Marinette Counties and other places. Footage includes scenes of deer and deer hunting, an albino deer, fishermen, outdoor activities, various waterways, tree planting, and forest fires. All film is 16 mm positive, camera original, black and white, or color.

AE 608	[Peshtigo], circa 1934-1943 Physical Description: Black and white, color, silent  Note: Footage includes men deer hunting, men fishing in a rowboat, and winter scenes in the woods.
CC 993	[Lakes, rivers, and falls], circa 1927-1940s Physical Description: Black and white, color, silent  Note: Footage from many lakes, rivers, creeks, and falls. Some waterways include Lake Wausau, Armstrong Creek, Robinson Bay, Agate Falls on the Ontonagon River, the Mississippi River, Garden River, and Prairie River. Some footage includes men fishing and hiking. Footage of Niagara Falls is from a 1927 commercial film; this footage is on tinted yellow film stock.
AE 613	[Trees and conservation], circa 1941 Physical Description: Color, silent  Note: Footage includes shots of people, squirrels, flowers, men butchering a deer, rows of trees, and a man unloading, planting, and inspecting trees. Also includes shots of Langlade State Fish Hatchery Wisconsin Conservation Department sign.

AE 610	[People], circa 1940s Physical Description: Color, silent  Note: Footage of men, women, and children engaging in outside activities. Some activities include a man feeding a fawn from a bottle, a cabin and surrounding grounds, a man and boy climbing a tree, men snowshoeing, men snowmobiling, and boys playing in the snow.

Some shots include a girl in a majorette uniform twirling a baton, scenes from Wausau high school, exhibits at a fairground, men drilling a well, and grain and cornfields.
