: Records, 1979-1982, from the administration of Lee Sherman Dreyfus, including records on extradition; records on Wisconsin's health systems agencies; correspondence of individual legal counsel staff; correspondence concerning State contracts with outside services; and inmate complaints sent to the Governor. Also included are case files, 1931-1951, on cases in which the State of Wisconsin was plaintiff, including transcripts of testimony, orders, affidavits, transcripts of hearings, and returns of record. Most extensively documented is State of Wisconsin v. Elsie Wrosch, concerning murder by poison.

Also documented is Executive Order 96 concerning equal opportunity in service delivery and the case Martin v. State of Wisconsin, concerning violations of the Civil Rights Act in the hiring processes of the Department of Industry, Labor and Human Relations. Also included are a few records related to the Governor's Council on Lesbian and Gay Issues. The accession contains Executive Clemency application materials submitted by Mark Klandrud of Greendale, Wisconsin.

Included is correspondence, 1988-1989, addressed to the Governor from inmates, individuals facing trial, and citizens, concerning treatment in correctional institutions, the judicial system, requests for legal assistance, requests for executive clemency, and matters of probation and parole. Also included are records of the State of Wisconsin Building Commission, 1989, especially materials concerning the building of an auditorium at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater; and a few case files, 1987-1990, on cases where Thompson was either the defendant or related to the case, including cases involving David Prosser and Ben Masel.
