Abstract:
David D. Smith is a gay rights activist who owned and managed Four Star Fiction and Video in Madison, Wisconsin. His papers include business records and photos from the video store, as well as Smith's writings from the 1970s and 1980s. Also included is a bus sign that Smith designed for the Madison Gay Center, which was at the center of a controversy between Madison Metro Transit and Mayor Paul Soglin's office.
