Abstract:
This collection contains the records of the Somers Civic Association from 1975-1985. In addition to financial and administrative documents relating to the Somers Civic Association, the collection also contains various newspaper clippings, photographs and correspondences, many of them pertaining to the Miss Somers competition, which was held annually. The collection also contains documents and photographs relating to various other events organized by the Somers Civic Association, such as Independence Day parades and retirement parties.

Biography/History

The Miss Somers competition was first held in 1966.

Scope and Content Note

This collection consists of various photographs, newspaper clippings, administrative and financial documents and correspondence relating to the Somers Civic Association from 1975 to 1985. The collection provides an overview of events held in the town of Somers, Wisconsin throughout the 1970s and 1980s, with particular emphasis on the Miss Somers competition. It also details the inner workings of the Somers Civic Association, the body that organized many of these events, by means of various administrative and financial documents.
