W.H. Osborne formed Wisconsin Malleable Iron Company in 1878, and in 1903 acquired the Lakeside Malleable Castings Company of Racine. Wisconsin Malleable Iron Company was dissolved in 1936. Osborne's son, William V. Osborne became president of Lakeside Malleable Castings Company, which became Lakeside Sales Ltd. under the direction of Lucien G. Osborne.

The collection consists primarily of materials related to Lakeside Sales Inc., Lakeside Malleable Castings Company, and Wisconsin Malleable Iron Company. Papers include articles of incorporation, stock certificates, financial documents, and journals. Personal family items include correspondence, personal financial documents, and a property survey.

The collection is divided into two series, Business Records and Personal Papers. The business records are divided alphabetically by business entity name, and then by type of record. Personal papers are divided alphabetically by type.
