Biography/History

Wade Twamley, a Milwaukee resident, managed JC's Rainbow Bar, which opened in December 1990. Together with owner J.C. (Joel Castillo), the gay bar remained in business until 1991. In September 1991 Twamley opened the Rainbow Revue, which operated until 1992. Both bars held a variety of shows like Mr. and Miss Rainbow and had restaurants.

Scope and Content Note

The collection contains photos, including images of drag shows, and newspaper clippings from JC's Rainbow Bar and Rainbow Revue which were owned by Wade Twamley in the early 1990s.
