Abstract:

Records of a University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee student organization. Consists of newspaper articles, photographs, and programs dealing with the organization. Several articles in the collection focus on the death of Scabbard and Blade member Lt. Terry Manz, who was killed in 1967 in South Vietnam. Also included are several photographs of Scabbard and Blade members at the Military Ball (1958, 1963-1964), photographs of the 1967 Awards Dinner and the 1967 and 1968 Pledge Nights, and programs from the Military Ball (1967-1970). The programs provide a list of sponsors, commanding officers, and honored guests at the Military Ball.

An unknown donor donated the collection to the Archives in 1997 (accession number 1997-033).

Processing Information

Joseph Hyland processed the collection at the Archives in September 2000. The collection originally consisted of a scrapbook that was dismantled due to its poor condition.
