The organization began in August 1994 under the name Concert and Entertainment Committee. In September 1994 they changed their name to aweSOME (Student Organization for Music Entertainment). This organization provided scheduling and booking of popular musical acts for the University from 1994-1996.

Access Restrictions

The collection is restricted as stipulated in the Privacy Act of 1974, 5 U.S. Code, Section 552 (a). However, the Office of the Dean of Students has extended to the Archives its permission to provide access to redacted copies of restricted records, following guidelines established by the Office of Legal Affairs and the UWM records custodian.

Acquisition Information

The UWM Student Organization Advising and Resources (SOAR) office transferred the collection to the Archives in May 1997 (accession 1996-046).

Dan Cook began processing the collection at the Archives in July 1997. Michele Christian completed the procesing in November 1997.
