Abstract:

Collection contains miscellaneous records of an organization that was formed to promote education in general, to promote teachers education in particular, and to foster the economic welfare and professional morale of its members. Included are committee reports, meeting minutes, newsletters, and correspondence. Most of the records are from the 1940s and mid 1950s.

The Association of Wisconsin Teachers Colleges was formed in 1915 by the faculty members of the State Teachers Colleges. In 1952 the group changed its name to the Association of Wisconsin State College Faculties. The group remained active until 1956 when it ceased to exist with the merger of the State Teachers Colleges and the University of Wisconsin System.

The files are organized alphabetically by subject, then chronologically.
