Abstract:

Records of a social and service organization for UWM women employees. The bulk of the collection consists of minutes, correspondence, and programs and announcements of upcoming events, documenting the organization's activities. The collection also contains a constitution and by-laws, a cookbook, membership lists, and photographs.

The UWM Women's Service Club was formed in 1968. Membership in the club was open to all women employees on campus. Members who retired or left the University were eligible to continue their membership. This social and service organization raised money for undergraduate scholarships and provided community services. The club disbanded in 1989.

Acquisition Information

Barbara Spalda from University Outreach transferred the bulk of the collection to the Archives in August 1995 (accession 95-015). Other pre-1970 materials were transferred to the Archives by an unknown donor sometime prior to 1989.

Processing Information

Christel T. Maass processed the collection at the Archives in August 1995. Christel Maass added a cookbook, previously cataloged, to the collection in January 2017.
