Abstract:

Records documenting the activities of the Interfraternity Council, an organization which governed social fraternities at UWM and its predecessor institutions. Included in the collection are constitutions and by-laws; correspondence; minutes; fraternity guides; Greek Night and Greek Week brochures; and rushing, pledging, and hazing policies.

The Interfraternity Council appears to have been established at the Milwaukee State Teachers College in the mid-1940s. The Interfraternity Council governed all social fraternity activities on campus.

The files are organized alphabetically, then chronologically. Files can contain a variety of materials, including correspondence, memos, and reports.

An unknown donor transferred the collection to the Archives prior to 1989.
