Milwaukee Public Library librarians collected these materials, originally part of the Humanities Department Local History Pamphlet Collection, to preserve the items and provide public access.

The collection provides a historical overview of food and drink menus offered by restaurants and hotels in Wisconsin. The majority of the collection pertains to restaurants located in the City of Milwaukee.
