Tal-N-Art Consortium, Inc. was a community arts orientated group composed of artists, non-artists, and other interested local people. Its focus was on empowering positive community aspects, attitudes and pride through the support, nurture and development of community art and culture. It was incorporated in 1984 and its initial goal was to build/fund a cultural center/performing arts theatre on 4th and North Ave. It also branched out into other forms of community cultural support over the years. Frank Zeidler, former Milwaukee Mayor, was a supporter and on the board of directors. The group was officially dissolved in 1993.

This collection includes some correspondence, meeting minutes, member lists, newsletters and reports. There are also records from their Saladfest fundraiser. The materials focus on the years 1985–1988.

The collection is arranged alphabetically by name or subject, then chronologically within each folder.

Acquisition Information

Donated by Frank Zeidler at an unknown date. Originally part of Zeidler's unprocessed personal papers, they were removed in 2019 to create a separate collection. Materials accessioned as Local History Manuscripts.
