Records of the Oil-Heat Institute of Wisconsin. While the company went through several name changes, its main purpose was to promote the use of oil. Collection contains meeting minutes, correspondence, reports, and advertisements.

The Oil-Heating Association of Wisconsin was founded in 1922. It promoted the use of oil as a heating source, particularly in the home. From 1940-1955 they were known as the Wisconsin Oil-Heat Association. In 1955, they changed their name again, becoming the Oil-Heat Institute of Wisconsin, Inc. With the increasing use of natural gas as a heating source, a merger with the Wisconsin Petroleum Association (originally the Wisconsin Independent Oil Jobbers Association) in 1958 helped consolidate both aspects of the state petroleum industry: fuel oil and gasoline. The Wisconsin Petroleum Association focused on oil marketing, regulations, and business relationships. As of 2018, they are the Wisconsin Petroleum Marketers & Convenience Store Association.

This collection includes meeting minutes, correspondence, reports, newsletters, advertising campaigns, and inter-organizational matters. Some of the materials relate to lobbying efforts on behalf of the organization.

The collection is arranged alphabetically by subject, then chronologically within each folder.
