Milwaukee Public Library librarians collected these materials, originally part of the Humanities Department Pamphlet Collection, to preserve the items and provide background information on various schools and learning institutions in the state.

The collection consists of booklets, brochures, curricula, programs, and other materials from different schools and universities within Wisconsin. The majority of the materials are for institutions in the Milwaukee area. It contains items from all levels of public, private, parochial, and vocational and trade schools. Other types of schools, such as language and art, are included as well. Some scrapbooks are also included covering three different Milwaukee high schools. They contain clippings, photographs, and other ephemera.

The collection is arranged alphabetically by school or subject.

Acquisition Information

The majority of the materials were collected by various Milwaukee Public Library librarians over the course of many years and were added to the Humanities Department Pamphlet Collection. In 2018, they were removed from there and accessioned as a Local History Manuscript Collection. There is no deed of gift currently on file for the scrapbooks.
