Biography/History
The Ambulance Service Board (ASB) develops service plans and serves as an advisor in
matters regarding the issuance, renewal, suspension, revocation and reinstatement of
certificates for ambulance service providers participating in the City's emergency
medical services system. These records cover the assessments and regulation of
ambulance companies along with a variety of related issues that the Board provided
guidance on.
Scope and Content Note
This collection consists of meeting minutes, correspondence, rates, regulations,
plans, studies, certifications, licenses, training documents, handbooks, marketing,
event participation, and a lawsuit against primary service providers and the City by
secondary providers.
Included in these records are bureaucratic records on ambulance company applications,
certifications, and service standards, marketing documentation including sticker
campaigns, a technical panel and correspondence on billing for conveyance of those
in police custody, plans for service models, and maps of service area
breakdowns.
