Biography/History

Joseph A. Dudzik was elected February 19, 2002 when his predecessor, Annette Scherbert, left her term early for health reasons. Scherbert, who was Dudzik’s former kindergarten teacher, endorsed him as her successor for alderman of the 11th district after she announced her retirement. He was elected in 2002 to fill the remainder of her term and then was re-elected consecutively until he passed away in a motorcycle accident on May 22, 2015. Before becoming an alderman, he was a City of Milwaukee employee in the Department of Public Works for over 20 years.
