Abstract:

Papers of Gustave Buchen, a Republican Wisconsin state senator from 1942-1951, including mostly correspondence, 1941-1951; an autobiography; clippings, 1943-1947; speeches, 1915-1949; committee reports; and an unfinished manuscript about the Kettle Moraine State Forest. The correspondence concerns Buchen's sponsorship of several bills on mental health and conservation. There are also some letters pertaining to his book Historic Sheboygan County, published in 1944.
