Abstract:
Records of a special committee created by Winnebago County Board during 2007 budget deliberations to review the various county departments for opportunities to improve and become more efficient. Records include the committee's charge; agendas and minutes; a list of committee members; and materials documenting a similar committee in Sheboygan County. Also includes completed program evaluation questionnaires filled out by department heads describing each activity undertaken by the department. These forms captured, among other things, each program's goals and purpose as well as how it contributes to other aspects of county government. Also contains individual score sheets completed by each committee member as part of a program review. These scores were summarized in other documents preserving the total score for each committee member. The agenda and minutes from the committee meetings summarize the progress of the committee and give a brief overview of the departments and their functions. The Committee worked from March to October of 2007 at which time they presented their recommendations to the board.
