Abstract:
Papers of Edward “Twenty Grand” Steinbock, a nationally-known auto race announcer, consisting mainly of reference notes and statistics he compiled on auto racing during the period 1935-1962. Included are track records of drivers of sport cars, stock cars, and midget racers; race results; point and place standings; and histories of speedways. Also present are several printed articles; clippings by or about Steinbock; and photographs of Steinbock at the microphone, race drivers, and race tracks, and Steinbock with celebrities.
