Among the microfilmed local history materials are a diary, 1849-1857, of William George Cowell, a miner who lived in Superior, 1953-1856 (original held by Douglas County Historical Museum); “A History of the First Presbyterian Church, 1854-1902” (original held by the church); biographical articles about Harry Holder Grace (1856-1920), a prominent Superior lawyer and politician (original scrapbooks held by Mrs. George F. Hawley); a diary, 1863, of Mrs. Hiram Hayes concerning her Civil War activities and a visit to her husband in an army camp near Aquia Creek, Virginia (original held by Douglas County Historical Museum); a diary and cash book, 1869, of William Higgins, minister of the First Presbyterian Church (original held by the church); radio lectures, 1935-1936, by faculty members of Superior State Teachers College on economics, history, and science; and miscellaneous papers concerning the career of August H. Zachau (originals held by H.A. Zachau) including a hotel register (1857) of the Fond du Lac House, letters and accounts (1872-1873) concerning work as agent for Chapman and Cooper for the Ashland, Bayfield, and Superior stage line, a Douglas County court record book (1869-1871), and miscellaneous documents (1876-1922).

City Plan Commission housing study materials include a final report; presentation tables, general survey tables, and block tabulations of the real property inventory; and tables of the low income housing survey.

Microfilmed version of records copied or compiled by the Works Progress Administration, 1936-1942. Some items are also found/duplicated in Superior Mss A and/or Superior Micro 3. Reel 1 contains an overview of the project and a list of typescripts copied or compiled including author, sometimes the location of the original, and notes by WPA project staff.
