Abstract:

Records, 1848-1912, including contracts, proposals, and bids for the construction and expansion of the second state capitol building in Madison. Records relate to the construction of the west, north, and south wings and the rotunda. There is also documentation of plans to heat and provide sewer service to the building. Of note are 1848 specifications and a drawing of an outhouse or water closet.
