Bibliography of Archaeological Reports (BAR) is a database of sites and serves as the primary finding aid to this series; it is available at the Wisocnsin Historical Society in the office of the State Archaeologist under conditions set by statute. There are some gaps in the database coverage, particularly for the pre-1992 period. United States Forest Service Cultural Resource Reconnaissance reports were entered inconsistently prior to 1984 and Wisconsin Department of Transportation archaeological field reports were entered inconsistently between 1981 and 1987. Archaeological survey information transmittals for borrow pit surveys have not been entered in the database since 1992. Missing reports are being entered as staffing permits.
