Abstract:
Records relating to numerous community surveys and studies that were carried out by county and/or city governments with requested assistance, administrative guidance, and/or financial support of the Division for Children and Youth. During this period, counties or localities within counties launched a number of studies, most of which were concerned with documenting and analyzing community services offered to children and youth. Other studies involved juvenile deliquency; high school dropouts; the children of migrants; school social worker programs; federal Office of Economic Opportunity-supported community action programs; and programs for American Indians. There are some records documenting studies conducted by the Division in conjunction with the Wisconsin State School Health Council. The files include Division correspondence to and from county/city officials; transcripts of interviews with citizens; survey and study draft and final reports; committee meeting minutes; study project materials; and miscellaneous documentation relating to these studies and surveys.
