Abstract:
Correspondence and subject files, mainly 1956-1988, of the Pharmacy Examining Board. Records contain correspondence with state agencies, the Legislature, other states, federal agencies, pharmacists and other health professionals, in addition to other materials, concerning a wide range of policy and professional issues. Among the more well-documented topics is the board's interest in controlled substances abuses, regulations, and legislation, much of which is related to the work of the state Controlled Substances Board. The topics of licensing, exams, professional standards and standards enforcement, pharmacy law and administrative rules, opinions of the Attorney General, the role of non-pharmacists in the profession of pharmacy, and affiliations with other examining boards and health professions are also well represented. Correspondence and other materials relating to involvement with professional associations, most notably the Wisconsin Pharmaceutical Association and the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy, are included.
