Correspondence, memoranda, and background information of Martin J. Schreiber, who served as lieutenant governor during the Patrick J. Lucey administration, together with some miscellaneous subject files documenting his earlier career (1963-1970) as a state senator from Milwaukee. In 1977 Schreiber became acting governor when Lucey was appointed U.S. ambassador to Mexico. Well documented is Schreiber's investigation of nursing home conditions and his administration of the Nursing Home Ombudsman Program, as well as his interest in consumer affairs and the Bicentennial.
