Abstract:

Files relating to hearings before the Department of Natural Resources and its predecessor, the Department of Resource Development, concerning investigations of alleged pollution of the Wisconsin rivers and drainage basins by municipal and industrial waste. Included are transcripts of public hearings, orders and findings of fact, exhibits, correspondence, data, and occasional photographs and legal documents. A substantial quantity of the investigations concern charges of alleged pollution of the Wisconsin River by Nekoosa-Edwards, Consolidated Papers, and other paper companies.
