Abstract:
Correspondence, reports, memoranda, statistical tables, and data pertaining to state planning. Included are subject files of Walter K. Johnson, director of planning, mainly concerning Phase II of the comprehensive state plan prepared by the department under contract with the Department of Housing and Urban Affairs (P-22), memoranda of understanding with subcontractors such as the University of Wisconsin and the Southeast Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission, planning committee minutes and progress reports, and staff correspondence and memoranda. Additionally there are preliminary reports and data gathered for the Economic Analysis Project and development proposals and technical supplements that were not included in the published plan. These records include papers of consultant Richard B. Andrews of the University of Wisconsin; area and county analyses and study data, portions of which are available on microfilm. The area analyses include interviews conducted with a representative sample of Wisconsin businesses, and a smaller number of interviews concerning other aspects of the area economy. There are also planning analyses of most counties and the Standard Industrial Classifications in Wisconsin. A few files concern specialized planning reports on Door and Menominee counties, hospitals, libraries, recreation, and water resources.
