Records of the Governor’s Council for Consumer Affairs established by Governor Patrick Lucey in 1972 to advise him on consumer matters and to suggest legislative initiatives. Sometimes known as the Wisconsin Council for Consumer Affairs, the council was chaired by Lieutenant Governor Martin Schreiber. Records include consumer complaints collected for reference purposes, administrative correspondence, files on regional consumer councils, subject files, a recorded public hearing on mobile home parks, and recorded public service announcements by Schreiber. Correspondence topics include mobile homes, other consumer organizations, public access to information, insurance, occupational licensing, food, health products, energy and consumer related subjects. The council was not renewed by Governor Dreyfus.
