Abstract:
Series of cards compiled and used by the Wisconsin Adjutant General's Office between 1914 and 1920 for verification of military service, needed to administer the cash and educational bonus during the early 1920s. The records were later used to verify military service, as part of counseling regarding federal benefits, medical assistance, and educational and vocational opportunities. In 1965, the records were transferred to the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs. The records provide summary information of Wisconsin residents' military service in the U.S. Army, Navy and Marines between 1914 and 1920.
