Abstract:
Records of a citizens committee created by executive order in 1969 to undertake a comprehensive examination of education in Wisconsin. Included are correspondence, memoranda, minutes, draft reports, newsletters, and informational material collected by various Department of Administration personnel who served as members of the Commission's policy group. Although records of all of the Commission's component task forces and other subunits are not included in the series, the information on the financing of education is extensive. Frequently referred to as the “Kellett Commission” because it was chaired by William R. Kellett, this committee should not be confused with the two other Kellett Commissions of the Knowles Administration which studied governmental reorganization and financial management.
