Abstract:
Records of joint standing and statutory committees of the Legislature. The records of early date are fragmentary and incomplete and consist solely of minutes of meetings. Although so titled, these records are not true minutes, but rather a summary consisting of meeting date, legislation considered, individuals presenting testimony, motions, and individual votes of committee members on the legislation. Later records are more complete and for the Joint Committee on Audit (1977-1982) are true records. For this committee, there are minutes and transcripts of hearings and executive sessions, correspondence relating to audit requests, informational meeting files, Legislative Audit Bureau report files, and issue files. For the Joint Survey Committee on Tax Exemptions there are reports on the fiscal impact of various tax bills prepared by the Legislative Reference Bureau and the Department of Revenue. For the Joint Subcommittee which investigated the firing of John Moses by the Veterans Affairs Board, there are partial transcripts. Files of the Joint Committee for the Review of Administrative Rules concern the WIC program, whistleblower legislation, butyl nitrite, and other topics. There is miscellaneous correspondence and lists of bills considered for various other committees.
