Abstract:

Minutes (1951-1975), reports, subject files, and committee files of the Natural Resources Council of State Agencies (NRCSA) and its predecessor, the Natural Resources Committee of State Agencies, which was formed in 1951 and authorized to make studies and recommendations about the management and protection of all natural resources of the state. The series was compiled from files in the custody of various individuals on the committee: M.W. Torkelson, Tax Commissioner Harry W. Harder, and Walter Scott of the Department of Conservation (later the Department of Natural Resources). Also included are minutes and papers of the chairman of the Water Subcommittee, Harvey E. Wirth of the Division of Environmental Health (DHSS), which also contain information on his participation in the formation of the Upper Mississippi River Basin Coordinating Committee.
