Abstract:

Order books, muster rolls, minutes, and miscellaneous organizational records of local units of the Wisconsin National Guard. Although defined as public records, the majority of this series was received by the Historical Society through private donors. Represented are the Lake City Guards of Madison, Troop A of the First Wisconsin Cavalry (the Light Horse Squadron) of Milwaukee, the First Wisconsin Infantry (also of Milwaukee), and Companies A of the 3rd Wisconsin Infantry.
