Abstract:
Central subject file of the Department of Industry, Labor and Human Relations and its predecessor, the Industrial Commission. The files contain correspondence, reports, minutes, memoranda, legal and attorney general opinions, legal codes, administrative orders, statistical tables, working papers, and other materials. Topics covered include legislation; codes, rules, and regulations; wages and hours; industrial safety; equal rights; worker's and unemployment compensation; women and child labor; building safety; and departmental administrative matters. Until about 1960 file, numbers were assigned to both subjects and major correspondents. These numbers were prefixed by the letter “C”. Unfortunately, the file index was lost.
