Collected photostat copies and transcripts of papers relating to the early history of the Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, area. Included are an 1809 commission and letters of Indian agent Nicolas Boilvin, 1811-1823, from originals in War Dept. files; letters from agent Thomas P. Burnett from the War Dept. and Indian Office files; letters from Joseph M. Street; a ledger, 1820-1833, kept by Joseph Rolette for the American Fur Company; parish registers of St. Gabriel's Church, 1817-1829, and of Reverend Francois Vincent Badin, 1827-1833; medical record books from Fort Crawford, 1833-1836, and of Dr. B. C. Miller, 1834-35 and 1837-38; and a record of lumber sale accounts from the Chippewa Mill, 1837-1847. English
