Eugene Dorff Papers, 1974-1982

Scope and Content Note

The Eugene Dorff papers are drawn primarily from the later years of his tenure in the Wisconsin State Assembly (1970-1982) and are only a small portion of the documentation that once existed, documenting mainly the years 1979 to 1982. The collection is arranged into CORRESPONDENCE, PRESS RELEASES, SUBJECT FILES, and BILL FILES.

Correspondence with constituents covering a broad range of issues, topics, and views on proposed legislation is arranged alphabetically by correspondent. A complete set of press releases issued by Dorff's office is included; most of the releases are undated and have been kept in their original order. Separate subject and bill files deal with many different aspects of Dorff's career, and cover the entire span of his time in Madison. Among them are the Excise and Fees correspondence, matters relating to the city and county of Kenosha, governmental correspondence with various state agencies, and issues of concern to the people of Kenosha and the southeastern Wisconsin area.
