Abstract:
A collection of ambrotypes, daguerreotypes, tintypes, and other formats originally housed in photograph cases. The majority of the images are portraiture with occasional landscape views. Some tintypes in the collection are uncased. The collection was intentionally assembled from a variety of sources. Also included are some cased painted miniature portraits and a cased copper plate physionotrace. Many of the images are of American Civil War soldiers in uniform.
