Abstract:
Papers of Robert K. Olson, a former Foreign Service Officer. The collection contains papers documenting his career, as well as continued work in international relations and environmental issues following his retirement in 1976; correspondence with family, friends, professional, and to legislators and the media; writings on foreign affairs, the environment, and school papers; journals and other papers documenting his experience in Vietnam. Correspondence covers contemporary events such as September 11, 2001 and the aftermath. Also includes yearbooks and commencement programs; Olson and Uhrenholdt family histories; and papers relating to running the Uhrenholdt Farm following his retirement. Photographs and scrapbooks document his family, service during World War II, and Foreign Service years. Papers of Yvonne Olson, Robert's wife, as well as his parents, Sigurd F. Olson and Elizabeth Olson, are also included.
