Scope and Content Note

Partial records of Group 103, Mutual Help Society (occasionally known as St. Juliana Society; from the Polish name, Wzajemnej Pomocy Pod Opieka Sw. Julji) of the Polish Women's Alliance of America (Zwiazek Polek w Ameryce), a fraternal organization of women of Polish ancestry. Group 103 was organized in Milwaukee, May 22, 1910 by Mary O. Kryszak and J. Krzyzanowska, and has been active in community and civic activities, war work and relief during World War II, and social events. The records, which were collected by past president Angeline Korta and current president [in 1981] Rose Jendrzejewski, include handwritten minutes in Polish of meetings of the group and of committees, 1953-1965; a few items of correspondence, with newsclippings, 1953-1971; a volume of members' names and addresses, circa 1930-circa 1960; and printed constitutions, 1930, 1955, 1959, 1967, jubilee albums, and song brochures.
