Abstract:

Robert Bruce Davies’ research files for his dissertation, “The International Operations of the Singer Manufacturing Company, 1854-1895,” and his book, Peacefully Working to Conquer the World: Singer Sewing Machines in Foreign Markets, 1854-1920. Included are research notes, photographs, advertising specimens from the company and other miscellaneous Singer and sewing machine industry documents (1846-1917), articles, clippings, and a copy of the dissertation.
