Abstract:
Papers of Harrison L. Garner, a long-time alderman in Madison, Wisconsin, and his wife, Mary Parent Garner, documenting Mr. Garner’s studies at the University of Wisconsin, World War I service and Gas School instruction, American Legion activities, and civic interests including the Madison City Council. Mrs. Garner’s papers reflect her civic interests, including Badger Girls State and the State Board of Public Welfare. Also included is family correspondence and a small amount of material from the Garners’ three children. The photographs and negatives document the family and Harrison Garner’s service in the Wisconsin National Guard (1916).
