Abstract:
Records, 1947-2015, of the National Conference of Editorial Writers, founded in 1947 and renamed the Association of Opinion Journalists in 2012. In 2015, it was reorganized as a 501c3 nonprofit foundation for the education and development of opinion journalists in all media. In 1981, the National Conference of Editorial Writers Foundation was established "to conduct, sponsor and support educational programs and projects in the field of journalism and other opinion writers." The records consist of minutes of the Executive Board and Foundation, Board Meeting Planning materials and Administration records including constitution, mission statement, by-laws, history, past presidents, member directory and staff lists, committees, presidents' files, Foundation by-laws and articles of incorporation, correspondence, memos, and minutes. The records also contain Newsletters, Foreign Tour materials, Annual Meetings/Conventions, Minority Writers Seminar, Fundraising, and Financial materials.
